Identity and College Verification Notice
Effective Date: August 29, 2026
Identity Verified and College Verified are optional, independent trust signals. Neither is required to use the ordinary Service. A person may have no badge, one badge, or both badges.
A badge is not a background check, endorsement, or safety guarantee. Solsk does not conduct criminal background checks or sex-offender-registry screenings on members. Continue to use normal caution and review the Safety Center.
1. Identity Verified
Identity verification is provided through Stripe Identity. The process may ask you to photograph or scan a government identity document and complete a live selfie or liveness check. Stripe uses that material and related device, fraud, and verification signals to assess the request.
A successful Identity Verified result means Stripe’s configured process returned a qualifying result at that time. It does not mean that:
- Solsk knows every fact about the person;
- the document, name, address, or appearance will remain current;
- the person passed a criminal, sex-offender, employment, credit, or social-media check;
- the person is safe, honest, compatible, or endorsed by Solsk or Stripe; or
- every member completed identity or age verification.
Information and providers
Stripe collects and processes the identity document, selfie, live-capture data, biometric-derived verification signals, and related fraud or device information. Solsk receives the result, status, limited extracted details where configured, and a Stripe session reference—not the raw identity images used in Stripe’s flow. After a successful result, Solsk asks Stripe to redact the verification session. A redaction request may remain in progress or fail, and unsuccessful or abandoned sessions are not automatically redacted by Solsk. Stripe’s own retention, deletion, security, fraud-prevention, and legal requirements still apply.
Review the Stripe Privacy Policy and the sølsk Privacy Policy before choosing verification.
2. College Verified
College verification asks for a qualifying school email address and sends a time-limited code to that address. Entering the correct code demonstrates control of that inbox at that time. Resend may process the email address and delivery information to send the message.
A College Verified badge does not prove:
- current enrollment, attendance, graduation, employment, or good standing;
- the account holder’s identity or age;
- continued access to the school email;
- that the school sponsors, endorses, or partners with Solsk; or
- that the person is safe, honest, compatible, or currently near the school.
Solsk may store the school email address, normalized email and domain, school identifier and name, a one-way verification-code hash, attempt count, expiration, sent, created, updated, and confirmed timestamps, badge state, and the resulting one-time promotional-grant state. College-verification records are stored separately from the main account and are not automatically removed by the ordinary account-deletion process. They may remain when needed to document eligibility, prevent duplicate verification or fraud, protect account security, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. You may ask about deletion of residual records by emailing brandon@solsk.app from the account email.
3. Declared Age and the 18+ Rule
sølsk is strictly for adults 18 and older. The ordinary age gate is based on the birth date a person declares. Identity verification is optional and is not performed for every member. College verification does not verify age. If Solsk reasonably believes an account belongs to a minor, Solsk may disable it and take safety action regardless of badge status.
4. Badge Display and Removal
A successful result can add the relevant badge to profile cards, comment cards, profile previews, or other member-visible surfaces. Solsk may remove, suspend, or re-check a badge if a result is reversed, information changes, misuse is suspected, the related provider requires it, or continued display would be misleading. A badge can disappear before an account is removed.
5. Your Choice
- You may skip either verification path and continue using ordinary Service features, subject to the Terms.
- Completing college verification does not prevent you from completing identity verification, and completing identity verification does not prevent college verification.
- Do not upload another person’s document, use another person’s email, or attempt to manipulate a result.
- Do not email an identity document to Solsk. Use only the secure in-app provider flow.
6. Two-Month Film Reel Offer
Under the Two-Month Film Reel Offer, the first successful Identity Verified or College Verified result on or after August 29, 2026 creates one two-month Film Reel grant per account. Completing both paths does not create a second grant and does not extend the first. The grant expires without charging and does not revoke promotional access already earned in good faith. Review the Two-Month Film Reel Offer Terms for full conditions.
7. Questions and Privacy Requests
For questions about a badge, a verification result, or data handled by Solsk, email brandon@solsk.app from the account email. Stripe may require a separate request for information Stripe controls. Do not send identity documents by ordinary email.
